I’ve long been looking for answers as to why people change, searching for the catalyst that triggered the transformation. I always think that this change is something enigmatic albeit not completely spontaneous. I often ponder this train of questions in my head: Why did I really change? For what? Was it really my decision, or something else? What’s the purpose? What’s my gain?
Looking back into the past, I remember being so serious in my studies because that’s the only way I know how to get out of poverty. My desire to change my life prompted me to learn to manage my priorities and resources (very limited).
From my musing I found that the driving force is the life’s constraints. A limitation that has been reached will make one either extend or shrink. Extending limitations means changing for the better, it is growth. Only a person with the right mentality can make this happen. On the other hand, some people tend to become apathetic. It is decay. The decay may be gradual or abrupt depending on the person’s level of apathy and the ending is almost always tragic.
(In progress…)
