This week, although short and rather light as far as work goes, I think may have been the one I learned the most from. For starters, the conference talk we read through was by G. B. Hinckley who was the president of the church at the time of my conversion. So I very much enjoyed reading his remarks to the youth of that time and found myself wondering how they had since faired.

What really got me though was the 7 habits reading we did, authored by that Stephen R Covey fellow. I had to read through this bit a few times because it delved into some material and knowledge in which I was lacking and knew it but did not know where to look for the answers.

It was like a breath of fresh air after being in a cramped room for too long, or coming up for air after being submerged. It was above me. It was beyond me and yet I could feel the information taking root inside me as I struggled to understand and make sense of it. I printed it out and have it still for further study. I did not think to gain something so desired or coveted as dare I say the book of Mormon?

In either case it has me reeling. I have particularly enjoyed its remarks on conversing and getting along with others. There was so much good information in there I knew I could not possibly absorb it after one go. Unlike that mastery book we had to read, I found this anything but dull and pompous. Even so I did gain some knowledge I did not have from that book, but this.. paper. This essay on 7 habits. That I truly enjoyed and will keep for some time. Further study of it is required.
